Nova
Nova sat in a dark corner, her preference really. She watched all the teenagers dancing and having fun. And smiling. Her black hair, like her brothers, dangled down and covered her hazel eyes, also identical to her brother's. She knew Damien was on the floor above her, partying with his famous band and who ever else was up there. And she knew that he probably wanted her up there, so he could keep an eye on her. But it was illegal, and Damien could not afford something like that on his record. Of course, he could get drunk and all. People always seemed to like those things on You-tube. She sighed and pushed a little of her hair away from her right eye, since it was her dominant one.
She was wearing, of course, a black novelty shirt with a teddy bear on it and pink skinny jeans. She had long, black combat boots and black pink and black gloves that reached past her wrists and stopped at her shoulders. She closed her eyes, not expecting anything to happen in quite a while.

Nicholas was done for the night. He contemplated going home right afterwards, but the partier inside him compelled him to stay a bit longer. However, he knew "a bit longer" would end up being the entire night, and his parents would most likely call the cops if they found him missing. He doubted he would get caught though, he was good with timing things just right. Snagging a non-alcoholic drink (which he sneered at, and secretly hoped a stupid kid had brought along some real liquor), he headed for the nearest wall to lean against. He had his hood up over his head, hiding from all the bright lights that made his eyes hurt.
He decided to have a bit of fun with the lights, the continuous pattern making his head hurt. He was able to trace the lights to their source, a small electrical box that was hooked up to a computer. The computer was the controls that kept the lights moving, the program on it running the patterns in loops. He rose his hand slightly, finding using his hand and fingers made his powers a bit stronger when dealing with electronics at a farther distance. A couple flicks of his fingers and the lights were engaged in a different dance of patterns, one much more complex and invigorating than the other boring patterns. The dancers on the floor seemed much more into this string of flashes and loops the lights were doing. The DJ was more confused than anything, but kept playing.
The technopathic teen just laughed quietly to himself, unaware of the younger teen in the corner beside him.

The slight darkness that Nova was used to when she closed her eyes was disturbed. More light seemed to be protruding through. She opened her eyes and looked around, squinting. The kids on the dance floor were happy and practically squeeling with excitement. She shook her head. Sometimes it just wasn't fair. It wasn't fair to be her. She finally noticed the boy close to her. What was he doing?
"Hey," she said quietly, almost inaudible. It's was how Nova talked most of the time, even if she wanted to be heard. "Are you doing that?" she asked. Something was definently odd about him.

"Hey. Are you doing that?"
Nicholas just barely heard the words over the intensity of the music. He glanced around before he finally caught sight of the girl in the corner. "Oh. Hello." Had she seen him? Was she like him too? If she was, was she on the other side? What if she was just a normal person? It wouldn't be good for a normal person to know he could do these kind of things, right?
Millions of thoughts rushed through his mind as he stared dumbfounded at the teen girl. Should he tell her that he was doing that to the lights? "Yeah, I guess you could say I was." How would she react? Surely she wouldn't freak out about it, right? He hoped she wouldn't. He took a nervous sip of his drink and slid down the wall, taking a seat on the floor.

Nova. Don't let them see who I really am
As the boy found himself in an odd predicament and slid down onto the floor, Nova pulled a fake smile on. "Oh, so you did that without really touching the computer?" she asked. "If you're a super, I'll keep your secret safe." She let the posing smile on her face fade away, "My brother is one too." she added. But of course, Nova was still a nobody. Softly, she sighed and her thick black hair fell over her right eye once again. Why was she even conversating with this boy. He would hurt her somehow. Like all the rest. She didn't even know him, but years and years of this hapening to her all the time put her in the place to just question anyone who talked to her. She'd been tormented her whole life. She could only trust Damien. She could only smile for Damien. Princess. She only felt safe when Damien called her Princess.
Her eyes filled with tears, like always, but no one would ever see that. She was good at hiding that with her hair. She just sat in the corner, now speechless.

"Oh, so you did that without really touching the computer?"
Nicholas nodded in defeat. The girl knew about his powers now so there was really no reason to hide anymore. "Yeah, I did that. I can do other things too." He didn't really want to demonstrate, and just left it at that. The boy took a sip of his drink and set it on the floor between his legs.
"If you're a super, I'll keep your secret safe. My brother is one too."
Oh, so she was related to a super. He still doubted her ability to keep a secret, but there wasn't anything he could do now. Nicholas debated what to do next when he had realized the younger girl had fallen silent for some time. Picking his drink up and setting it to the side, he moved closer to the girl, close enough to just barely seen tears rolling down her face. "Oh, shit. Did I say something wrong? Dammit, why are you crying?" Nicholas couldn't help but freak out. For some reason this girl was crying and he didn't have the slightest idea why.

Nova. Don't let them see who I really am...
Nova felt a little startled as the boy started blaming himself. No one had ever blamed themselves for her own tears. They had only blamed her, and used it to their advantage. "Oh, sorry. I get a little emotional sometimes. Sorry," she said once again. Sorry. So, he could do more. Like how Damien could speak to the dead and shapeshift. She brushed the hair out of her eyes, now a soft sparklish hazel.
Why are you crying?
Nova looked down at the ground below her. Her legs were pulled up tight to her chest, her arms secured around her knees. Like when she was a kid, and mommy and daddy were fighting. And Damien soothed her by calling her Princess. When Daddy left, and Mommy never came back. She held back the tears, she had already showed the boy beside her how much of a cowerd she was. "I don't know why I cry." she finally answered. She looked over at the boy. "I'm Nova. Nova King." She never felt safe giving her name. Especially her last name. Supers, other than villains, were usually nice to her. Civillains just depended. If they were crazy for her brother and his band, or if they wanted to take her. She held her legs tighter, not wanted to let go.

"Oh, sorry. I get a little emotional sometimes. Sorry."
She was apologizing for crying? Nicholas tentatively set his hand on her shoulder. "You don't need to apologize. We all have our moments we just need to let the tears out." He smiled gently, trying to work out a way to cheer her up. He wasn't much of a ladies' man, but he couldn't leave a girl upset. "Has something been going on you're upset about?" The girl's next sentence answered that question, however.
"I don't know why I cry."
"Oh." Nicholas kept his hand on her shoulder, frowning slightly. "Well, still. Crying isn't entirely bad. It means you're keeping something inside that you just need to let out." He smiled again and sat back. How could he cheer her up?
"I'm Nova. Nova King."
Nicholas was pulled out of his thoughts when the girl introduced herself. "I'm Nicholas Leland. I wouldn't be surprised if you've heard about my parents. If I'm lucky, you might have even heard of me. I DJ here." He chuckled quietly and glanced out at the dance floor. It couldn't really be considered dancing, but it seemed like everyone was having fun. Fun. Maybe dancing would make Nova happy? She was here by herself, when everyone on the floor had at least one person with them. Maybe...
"Nova, would you like to dance with me?"

Nova. Don't let them see who I really am...
Nova sat silently as the boy introduced himself. Nicholas Leland. No, she had never heard of him, or his parents.. She was never able to may much attention. She ignored his one question. The one he had asked before.
"Has something been going on you're upset about?"
But then, he touched her. Immediately, she withdrew. It brought unwanted memories back. "Sorry," she said softly. She didn't want to upset him. It was a habit. "It just.. Sorry."
", would you like to dance with me?"
She looked up from the ground and at Nicholas. She had never danced with anyone before. Only with her brother at her eleventh birthday. "I've never danced before. I might hurt you." she said, still no real smile playing on her beautifully shaped mouth. She started to fiddle with her gloves, something she always did when she was nervous, or wanted to hide something.
But it could be fun... But then, it could also be bad.

"I've never danced before. I might hurt you."
Nicholas laughed when she said that she might hurt him. It was unintentional though. "I doubt it. My feet have been mauled by girls in heels who don't know a thing about dancing. I don't think anything's worse than that." He smiled at Nova, trying to reassure her. "Anyways, that was ballroom dancing, complicated steps. This'll be much easier."
Standing, Nicholas crouched down to look her in the face. She was younger than him, he could tell that. But by how many years he couldn't tell. "Nova, how old are you?" he asked, and chuckled. "I'm sure your friends would be jealous if they knew you got to dance with a seventeen-year-old at a night club." He held out his hand, smiling at the girl.

Nova. Don't let them see who I really am...
Nova shrugged. "Oh yeah," she said softly. "All of my friends would be jealous. Since they're all teddy bears and raz-" she stopped herself. "But yeah.. I'm 15." she said quickly. She let go of the grip on her knees and began to rise up from the floor. She looked out ahead of her, seeing all the kids out their "dancing". She looked at Nicholas, a little confused. What now? she wanted to ask.
But she wasn't going to take that chance. She didn't want to seem like a total idiot, like she did to all of those monsters out there. The ones Damien couldn't protect her from.
